HOW MUCH OF A DEPOSIT or BOOKING FEE IS REQUIRED?
Unless specified, a minimum non-refundable booking fee
of $100.00 dollars is required within 14 days of a booking to confirm the reservation. A DJ who doesn't require
a booking fee or deposit may not take your event seriously. Should you need to reschedule I can move your
booking fee with 90 days’ notice to another date provided it is available.
DO YOU TAKE REQUESTS?
Your input
and that of your guests is most certainly welcome and encouraged. In addition to the songs and artists that you DO want
played, I always ask if there is any music that you DON'T want played during your function. While I have a music library
of over 120,000 songs on my notebooks, if there does happen to be a song requested that I don’t have, no worries –
with access to the cloud wherever there is a cell signal, there are very few instances where I would have to say "Sorry
I don't have that song".
WHO WILL BE MY ACTUAL DJ?
Barry Crocker Music Services is a single system operation, meaning
that when you book me it's me that will be at your event. I don't have multiple Disc Jockeys working for me, so nothng
gets lost in translation or miscommunicated. You won't have to deal with several people leading up to your event - which
brings true peace of mind.
WHEN IS THE
FULL PAYMENT DUE? Anytime up to 72 hours before the function is preferred however in some cases I am fine with payment upon arrival
the night of the party. I accept Interac Email money transfer, cheque, cash or Money Order.
IS YOUR MUSIC LIBRARY CURRENT?
Every month my new music is delivered from a DJ subscription service which showcases
the newest hits being sent to radio & clubs. No need to worry about any glitches, chirps or muffled vocals which can sometimes
be associated with bad mp3s. Throw in a massive music collection with broadcast quality sound from the
last 60 years including easy listening, oldies, instrumental, classic rock, 70s, 80s, 90s, hot new country, country gold,
local & traditional, retro & disco and I (honestly) have a better library of music than most radio stations.
(I can say that, having worked as an on-air talent at 3 of them!) The fact that I have an encyclopedic pop music
memory doesn’t hurt either, lol.
DO YOU HAVE BACK UP EQUIPMENT?
It would be unprofessional and
irresponsible to not have back up equipment. I have a pair of laptops, wireless microphones, redundant amplifiers,
speakers, and duplicate cables for all of my connections. I'm such a geek that I actually could run a dance from my
phone if necessary :) About the only thing I cannot control is the availability of electricity as my UPS has approximately
10 minutes of backup power.
IS THE DJ APPROPRIATELY DRESSED?
Absolutely! Shorts, Sneakers, T Shirts, Jeans, and Caps are
strictly forbidden. Your function is important, and I take your commitment seriously with appropriate clothing for each
event.
WHAT ARE THE LOGISTICAL REQUIREMENTS?
All I need is a minimum 6 foot table and chair within 25 feet of an electrical outlet.
Ideally the system should be situated as close to the dance floor as possible, otherwise the speakers will likely be too loud
for your guests sitting in between. If the decorator or caterer doesn’t provide a table cloth I carry one with
me just in case.
ARE YOU ABLE TO CREATE A SPECIAL MASHUP?
Perhaps you want a song shortened, a verse edited out or a mash-up
of several different songs - no worries, as I use Sony Sound Forge as my audio editor. After spending years in the production
studio at 3 different radio stations I know a thing or two about editing music files.
DO YOU OFFER LIGHTING?
Yes indeed,
I have a selection of uplighting effects as well as LED dance floor lighting to add excitement to your function. Unlike
most other DJs around town, my lighting uses a DMX controller - meaning the I am in full control of the speed, intensity,
pattern and colour of the lights during each song. It looks so silly and amateur to have lights spinning crazy during
a slow song. DMX controlled lighting is the bomb!
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY EVENT?
Many dates book far in advance (especially the weekends in July,
August and September) so it's best to contact me at least 9 months prior to your function. The sooner, the better is the general
rule of thumb.
